yeah anyway, personally i feel that the difference between power and style is its approach towards bboying. powerheads approach bboying like a form of gymnastics. often, they want to do something because its hard, and people cant do it.
case in point, wilson. cant do any footwork. has zero varies in footwork. most of his toprock varies are taken from yuxuan. he's a powerhead through and through, self admittedly.
styleheads often approach bboying from an aesthetic point. they don't want to do it to prove that they can, but to find out if it looks nice. if it looks nice, it doesn't matter how any1 could do it. its not hard to copy, but its harder to create.
case in point, ivan. yep, ivan. even though everytime i see him i (jokingly) tell him to go fuck himself. even though i don't agree with his seeming penchant for the mainstream and conformity. i still appreciate that he has the creativity to create his own variations instead of biting directly from others. in a way, its very good.
for example, most of the crew have only 1 or 2 footwork varies or bite from others. the only few i've seen create varies of any sort are ivan (yuxuan doesn't count. we're only talking about humans here) the rest only have few varies.
for example... nic. only footwork vary is shuffles. improperly done ones. zen too, though his apparent aim is to specialise in footwork.
that aside, i personally encourage every1 to experiment and try things out of the norm. maybe threading into a shoulder freeze, for example?
break.
